One Day (or YSOD) was a conference that Youth Specialties hosted this past fall. Why are telling you about this now?

Hey. Hold on, now.

Before we get ahead of ourselves talking about Volume 4, we are obligated to tell you that Volume 3 will be released in just a few weeks!

Due out in January, Volume 3 features the first international footage found in Trigger. Captured in India in November of 2007, it drives a piece on starvation, and what that looks like between varied situations found in India and the excesses of the United States.

In the meantime, the trailer will have to do. Enjoy!

Volume 4

The holiday season finds some past projects wrapped up like little presents and put away for good, and the production on Volume 4 lying ahead of us like a big present that our parents let us pick out.

This fourth disc will find us exploring not just aspects of -- or challenges to -- faith, but more specifically, the one we put our faith in.

While he is, to borrow an oft-used cliche´, the reason for the season, we hope to make the components of Volume 4 a bit more challenging than that simple reminder. We hope you'll stick around ('til, oh, August or so) to enjoy!

Trigger around the interweb

It's been quite some time since we've posted, but that doesn't mean we haven't been busy. The last few months have been filled with campouts, hip hop music videos, and acclimatization to a new office space. (Hello, windows!) Oh yes. Also... Trigger.

Round 3 is being completed at this very moment and will be out in a few months.

But discs 1 and 2 have been available on the old "series of tubes" for a while now. Here's what a few folks have had to say about the first offerings from the Trigger series:

We're happy to see that, at least for these folks, Trigger worked just as we intended: as a powerful tool for generating group discussion.

Also, we'll add that we're proud to do our part in helping put South Dakota on the map. Sort of.

Ready, Set, Jump

Following a scouting trip to the Black Hills, Passenger returned to finish the job. And by finish the job, we mean go hiking with our gear in tow and coax someone to jump off of a rock into very, very cold water. Some footage is available on our YouTube channel.

Finishing in pretty good time afforded the opportunity to take in a few additional sights while in "the Hills."

Fortunately, we happened to be in the area at the same time as the annual Crazy Horse Volksmarch. While none of us had ever "Volksmarched" before, we got the hang of it, as it closely resembled another activity we are pretty familiar with: walking.

Something about TPS reports

Passenger HQ completes its move to a new location this week. Leaving the subterranean dwellings of the Harvester building (and our office-mates from the Crossing) behind, we not only join the land of above-ground dwellers, we jumped right on up to the second floor.

As you can see, while we're moved in, we have a bit of unpacking to do.

Scouting, pt. 3

Sunday meant a day of heading home, winding past the enormity of Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore, past the trinket stores and rock shops and wood carvings that vie for attention against the natural beauty of the Black Hills. (No, we're not including any pictures of that. Though, it is tempting.)

With a trip to help some friends move in Huron, we rounded out the trip at over 1200 ticks on the odometer upon our return to Sioux Falls. Despite the seemingly endless drive through relentless prairie, we're anxious to return to the Hills and drink in the scenery. Oh. Yeah, and do some shooting, too.

Scouting, pt. 2

Day 2 in the wild, wild west found us in the vicinity of Igloo, SD, a former Army facility that is now all but abandoned. Amidst the buffalo, antelope, eagles, and rattlesnakes, we met the two folks living on the land, surrounded by buildings in various stages of disrepair. Turns out we were pretty small potatoes when it came to folks they've met in the media biz. Okay, maybe not small potatoes, but a distant fourth behind Tom Brokaw, Shia LaBeouf, and Sean Covel (producer of Napoleon Dynamite).

But regardless of the company, we found a fascinating and, at times, creepy landscape. The many tan-colored structures in the picture above are in actuality concrete buildings, as shown below.

We were surprised to find out there were over 800 of these buildings on the land. Besides the hundreds of concrete structures, though, there were many, many other buildings there, including the large brick-and-glass depot-like structure below.

While our findings out there definitely intrigued us (with countless opportunities for Lost references), they didn't necessarily confirm our hopes that this might be an upcoming site for a shoot. Fortunately, we were a little more successful on our other venture for site location that day.

Kids, don't try this at home.

Scouting, pt. 1

A weekend scouting trip to the western half of our state ("West River" to local blog visitors) has taken us through the Badlands (with stops both expected and unexpected) to Angostura Recreation Area. Make no mistake: they are "bad-lands." Or so a local, slow-speaking rancher would have us believe.

Of course, his explanation came after waiting for two hours for any sort of assistance in getting a stuck vehicle "unstuck" in the southern part of Badlands National Park.

No, it doesn't really look stuck. But that doesn't mean it would budge. At all.

And if we'd opted for sitting still for two hours, we probably would have picked another location. In the meantime, it allowed for some "additional" shots for the podcast. Stay tuned for that.

Shooting began today, May 3rd, and included a few shots for an upcoming Trigger.

A beginning

Welcome! And to our international visitors, bienvenidos, velkommen, bienvenue, and a host of other words we are unable to pronounce.

With the very recent -- and, as of yet, "unofficial" -- release of Trigger, we thought it best to create a means to keep our legions (dozens?) of adoring fans apprised of what's going on.

While Trigger's "official" release day is not until May of 2008, it has had a "soft" release and is, in actuality, available through a number of reputable retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders, and a number of others listed on our website.

Meanwhile, pre-production on disc 3 is taking place and shooting is slated to start in May and carry on through the summer.
